001: How can I apply to take adapted Physical Education classes?

◎ If you are unable to participate in regular PE classes due to illness or any injuries, please obtain a medical certificate issued by a teaching /public hospital or certified medical center. Submit your application and certificate through the school’s E-document & Forms System during the first week of the semester.

002: I’m a transfer student. Can my previous PE credits be waived?

◎ If you have previously graduated or studied at another university and are legally re-enrolled, any PE courses you passed can be waived upon review (see Student Handbook: PE Enforcement Rules). Please submit official transcripts to the Office of Physical Education for verification.


003: Where can I check out equipment for PE classes?

◎ Bring your student ID to the Equipment Room, fill out the designated form, carefully check the quantity and return the items on time to avoid affecting the subsequent classes.


004: What if I want to check out equipment for personal use?

◎ You can borrow equipment from the Equipment Room with your student ID and return it within the designated time (see Student Handbook: Ming Chuan University Procedures for Borrowing Sports Equipment).


005: What should I do if I lose the checked-out sports equipment?

◎ First, check the compensation fee with the staff of the Equipment Room. Then, complete the payment using the university’s automated payment machine. Bring the receipt back to the Equipment Room to cancel the check-out record and reclaim your student ID.


006: What is the priority order for using sports venues?

1. University-wide celebrations and events
2. PE classes
3. University sports team training and competitions
4. Approved activities
5. Activities held by faculty, staff, and student clubs


007: How can I join a sports team on campus?

◎ Outstanding athletes are selected through:

  • Freshman Cup competitions
  • Freshman sports specialty & experience survey
  • Direct application to the Office of Physical Education or coaches

◎ University sports teams at MCU include:
Basketball (M/F), Volleyball (M/F), Table Tennis (M/F), Track & Field (M/F), Softball (M), Woodball (F), Dance (F), Soccer (M), Fencing (M/F), Squash (F), Dragon Boat (M/F), Korfball (M/F), totaling 20. Talented newcomers are welcome to join!


008: Can I choose not to join the Cheerleading Dance Competition?

◎ The Cheerleading Dance Competition has always been a highlight of MCU’s Anniversary Sports Day. The Office of Physical Education encourages all Schools and departments to actively participate by organizing a representative squad. This also serves to showcase the features and enthusiasm of individual departments and Schools. It is not compulsory for all students to join; the decision is up to their School / Department Student Association. Still, students are highly encouraged to be engaged in the event to experience communal enthusiasm and team spirit.


009: What should I do if I can’t find where my PE class is being held?
